Two Thumbs Up For Matrix Sleek Look !

Guest Author - Lynne Chapman

Updated

All of you who dream of a smooth, straight style for your naturally wavy or frizzy hair, I have good news! I found a styling system that will help to remove every last wave and ripple and still leave your hair with body and lots of shine.

I tested Matrix Sleek Look Smoothing System on my hair this weekend. The system consists of four steps in the form of shampoo, conditioner, styling creme and hair spray, all formulated to work together to soften and smooth hair and to form a barrier against humidity. Humidity is the number one enemy of keeping wavy hair smooth.

  • Step #1….Shampoo
As I sudsed the thick, creamy shampoo, I was pleased with the fresh, light,
citrusy aroma. It lathered luxuriously and left my hair feeling very soft and silky, a feeling not usually achieved by shampoo alone. I rinsed thoroughly and reached for Step #2.
  • Step #2….Conditioner
The creamy conditioner has the same refreshing scent and left my hair feeling even more silky and smooth. After working it through my hair and rinsing, I towel dried and was ready for the next step.
  • Step #3….Styling Crème
Matrix provides a choice of two strengths of styling crème to use, depending on the texture of your hair. I tested each of them.

Lite Styling Crème is designed for softly wavy, flyaway or out of control hair. My hair smoothed out easily with a brush and blow-dryer, remained flexible and was left with a shine without feeling greasy. The product effectively kept my style smooth and sleek for two days.

Extreme Styling Crème,is designed for coarse, rough or frizzy. However, I had better luck with the Lite Styling Creme. It left my hair softer and smoother. I tried the Extreme Styling Creme several times but it seemed to encourage frizz rather than fight it. It may work for someone's hair, but not for mine.

  • Step #4….Water-free Lock Down Spray
Now for the finishing touches on my smooth, sleek style. As the instructions specified, I used this hair spray sparingly and was happy to find that it effectively locked out humidity and held my style in place without being stiff or sticky. My hair felt clean even through the next day.

If your wavy, curly or frizzy hair is a problem to control, this smoothing system may be your answer for the humid summer months ahead.
