Celebration Ted and Sheri
I first heard this talented couple at Bishop Carlton Pearson's AZUZA conference a few years ago and they were wonderful and delivered a soul stirring live performance that really rocked the place. On this project they deliver even more and show us just why they received the Stellar Group/Duo of the Year Award for 2003! These two are so on the money with their powerful ministry that it "ain't even funny!" Opening with the power packed, bass bumping praise tune "Celebrate" Ted and Sheri turn on the full glory of their voices and the praise party for Jesus begins. Showing their appreciation for Jesus as the lyrics state is exactly what these two do on this song and you can't help but join in the party. They work this song to so many levels that your spirits are lifted by the end of it and you just don't want it to end. Much like the after-effects of a great party you never wanted to end. (Smile) Next they move to a smooth groove with the tune "God Will Take Care" flavored with a great guitar track by Keith Taylor, this jam speaking of God being there for us, highlights the wonderful harmony and witnessing spirit of Ted and Sheri. The beautiful ballad "How Much You Mean to Me" which speaks of the love we feel for God, allows the couple to use their gifted voices to impart that they love the Lord with all of their hearts. Simply moving is this tune and the fact that these two can blend together so effortlessly shines. Finally a few other standouts on the project are "Lord I Love You" featuring Pastor Yvette Flunder and Bishop Walter Hawkins, "Serenade" written and performed by Sheri and the final cut "Believe". This is a wonderful CD and shows that there will be no sophomore jinks for these two. Log on to www.tedandsheri.com for more information.
Make Me Better Ann Nesby
What can you say about Ann Nesby? The former front woman of Sounds of Blackness has a voice that is totally one of a kind and you know it is her the minute you hear a few notes. Few people have that "sound" and you only have to say their first names to know who I'm talking about Patti, Aretha and Ann! This CD opens with a smooth R&B flavored track "He Makes Me Wanna" which features the lyrics that God will make you wanna "praise Him, serve Him and make you wanna know Him" Turn this tune up on the speakers of your car and the grooving tracks on this jam does just what it says...makes you wanna praise Him. Next she teams up with talented Christian rap artist Knowledge (you will be reading more about him here at Bella soon) and delivers the message that "It Won't Be Long" before God moves us to victory. The full-bodied voice of Ann works so well with the smooth rapping flow of Knowledge and the two blend wonderfully on this track. The heart touching and soul stirring "Open Arms" reaches to those places in our heart that we all have...you know the places that are filled with guilt and self doubt and allows us to know that God will be there for us even when we fail him. Ann's vocal range is on full display with this tune and when she sings of God waiting for us with open arms the passion and quality of her gift really shines. Next Ann gives us a look at her personal life on the track "Giving All My Love" when she speaks of the pain of a relationship that ends and how she learns to love again with the help of God and the right man. (Hey Tim!) (Smile) The tune "Thank You", the updated version of "Can't Stop Praising His Name" which features Jasper Street, and the very popular Shelter make this project a great buy.
