GMA WEEK 2005 IS SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 9-13, 2005 IN MUSIC CITY
During April 9-13 GMA Week 2005 will bring together representatives from all sectors of the gospel music industry for a week of training, equipping, and networking in Nashville.

Offering four unique professional tracks and more than 100 seminars and 100 music performances, GMA Week will provide participants with specialized professional development, multiple music showcases and the opportunity to connect with industry peers. The week will culminate on April 13 with the 36th Annual GMA Music Awards, gospel music’s biggest night of the year.

“GMA Week offers music, workshops and networking opportunities for every professional segment of the gospel music industry. It’s the week where we join together to take stock of trends affecting our industry; explore better ways to do our jobs and to see the new and rising artists of gospel music. If you work in or are interested in gospel music, we believe GMA Week should be an essential event for your 2005 schedule,” said John W. Styll, president of the GMA.

GMA Week 2005 brochures have been mailed to GMA members and past registrants. Anyone not receiving a brochure can get all the convention details and online registration at www.GospelMusic.org or by calling 615-242-0303, extension 238.

Music is always the focal point of GMA Week and 2005’s convention is no exception. The week’s music highlights include Sunday Morning Chapel Service & Opening Session featuring Louie Giglio and Passion; Sunday Evening Worship Service and Songwriter Showcase and nightly music showcases and daily luncheons. Additionally, those registering by the November 15th preferred registration deadline will receive a free ticket to the Steven Curtis Chapman “All Things New Tour,” with guests Chris Tomlin and Casting Crowns, sponsored by WAY-FM at Starwood Amphitheatre in Nashville, Saturday, April 9.

Professional development and networking are at the heart of the four industry-specific tracks offered at GMA Week 2005:

The Christian Music Broadcasters (CMB) track, formerly NCRS, will offer seminars designed for professionals in Christian/gospel radio, regardless of format. Track highlights include Boot Camp, the 4th Annual Tuesday Morning Worship Breakfast, Promotions/Marketing sessions, and Radio/Retail Sunday Events, featuring a Hot Issues Power Lunch, an Artist Welcoming Reception, and an all-new Radio/Retail Awards Ceremony.

The Christian Music Retail Conference (CMRC) offers seminars designed for those in the retail side of Christian Music. Formerly known as CMVR, CMRC track highlights include New Music Seminars, Showcase Luncheons, Heart of the Artist Sessions, and Educational Seminars. The Radio/Retail Sunday Events will be offered as part of this track, as well.

The Managers, Agents and Promoters Track (MAPS) will provide seminars designed to educate and develop key participants involved in concert/event promotion. Track highlights include a MAPS Sunday Field Trip, an Ask the Veterans session, MAPS Showcase Luncheons, Super Monday MAPS Breakout Sessions, and an all-new Interactive Negotiations session. Two MAPS Boot Camp Sessions will also be offered. The Artist Manager Boot Camp will give new and aspiring managers the opportunity to hear artists and top industry managers share their perspective. The Promoter Boot Camp will offer participants a full day’s worth of essentials to launch and blossom their craft.

The Industry & Associates Track will offer continuing education for professionals in the Christian/gospel music industry and for those interested in a career in gospel music. The track will feature an Industry Welcome Reception & Breakout Sessions, as well as sessions on Music Technology, Impacting Culture, and Art to Audience. The popular Artist Manager Boot Camp will be offered as part of this track as well.

The 36th Annual GMA Music Awards will serve as the culmination of GMA Week 2005 on Wednesday, April 13. This event is gospel music’s biggest night, as nominated artists and industry professionals are honored with the coveted Dove Awards.
