Biography

My name is Camille Gizzarelli and I am pleased to be the BellaOnline Editor for the Art Appreciation site.

I have an Art History background, and my enthusiasm for art continues to grow with each new experience. I spend a great deal of my time reading about art and visiting art museums. I find it to be a field that is endless in its scope and magnitude, always evolving.

I am the Associate Director of an art gallery on the Seacoast of NH.

I have been in the beauty (cosmetic) business for 20+ years and I have been fortunate to have met people from all socio economic levels. My life experiences have helped me with my writings and I feel fortunate to be able to reach so many people with my Art Appreciation articles.

I attended college in my youth, but never found an avocation I truly enjoyed until I reached my adult life. I find great enjoyment in art and I hope to share my joys and (sometimes) disappointments with you, my Bellaonline.com reader.

I think my articles and newsletters are always thought provoking, and sometimes controversial. I appreciate your feedback and encourage you to e-mail me with your thoughts and ideas.

Unrelated to the subject of art, I am active in the field of Breast Cancer. I have been on the Board of Directors of Breastcancerstories.org, a free website for men and women going through the cancer experience. This is a place where they can post messages and photos to share with family, friends, and even communicate with others on the site.

I am also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program where women going through chemotherapy are given a box of cosmetics (free of charge) and are instructed on how to use these products at home. I find both affiliations to be very rewarding as I am a Breast Cancer survivor of five years and I enjoy "giving back" to the community.

The American writer John Updike passed away in January 2009. I was honored to have seen him speak a year before. He said he always began writing with a sharpened pencil. I have always worked in the same method, writing with a pencil first, then following with Word. I salute John Updike as one of the greatest American writers.

As for my own personal success as a writer, some of my articles have been published by magazines and websites internationally and many have had very high search results on Google.

I would encourage you to keep an open mind when you read my articles. Make your own decisions on what is decent and what is rubbish in relation to art. Don't let an art magazine or periodical decide for you.

I hope you will subscribe to my FREE newsletter which will alert you to my latest Art Appreciation article.

I invite you to join me on this journey of enrichment. Are you ready?
