The Floral Bath Ritual - Mandi Bunga
Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Are you looking for a good, desirable husband? A young maiden in Malaysia looking for such a husband, may try the floral bath ritual. Young maidens have used the ceremony for generations.

Mandi Bunga, floral bath ritual, is very simple. The unwed woman purchases several types of fragrant flowers, coconut leaves, betel leaves, betel nuts, limau purut and okar sintok.

The purchases are presented to the bomoh, Malay medicine man. He says an incantation over the ingredients. The ingredients are placed in a vessel of water. The bomoh scatters grains of uncooked rice around the maiden.

The young maiden stands before the bomoh. She is dressed in a sarong. The bomoh pours the fragrant concoction over the maiden’s head.

The ceremony is attended by a select few. The mother, grandmother and other close relatives attend the Mandi Bunga.

Does it work? It depends on your outlook. Mandi Bunga leaves the maiden smelling sweet and looking fresh. That never hurts a woman!

Want to smell sweet? Look fresh? Try Glow by J. Lo. It has a soft scent with subtle, clean freshness. Prices range from US$27.50-56.00.
