Little India, Singapore - Teh Tarik

Little India, Singapore - Teh Tarik
Visit Little India while in Singapore. Little India is where the first Indian workers lived. Serangoon Road is the main street. There are places to shop and eat Indian style.

One great thing to do is to enjoy a mug of teh tarik. It is commonly called “pulled-tea.” It is a hot, frothy tea drink similar to Cappuccino/Latte.

Ceylon tea leaves are boiled and the tea is strained. The tea is poured in a mug. Several teaspoons of condensed or evaporated milk are added to the mug according to taste. Afterwards, the tea is poured back and forth between one mug and another with aerobatic skill. The contents soon become foamy.

The sweet tea is refreshing. Try a mug at home. Hold the mugs over the kitchen sink while pouring the tea between them. This is a great treat while reading a book or watching a film.

If you can not find Ceylon tea leaves near you, this is a great place to find it or any other Asian food of your choice.

Settle down with a mug of pulled-tea. Tuck your feet beneath you. Watch a great film. Share with the forum readers how you enjoyed the tea and film.
