Websites on Paper Bead Making
In a previous article we had an overview of rolled paper bead making. This time around we’ll have a look at some of the noteworthy websites that offer tutorials and more on making rolled paper beads.

Paper Beads and Jewelry: All Things Paper Beads
This is the official website of Janice Mae Bautista, also known as the Paper Bead Lady. The site is quite comprehensive and features lots of written and video tutorials, and shows Janice Mae’s inspiring experiments with paper beads and jewelry making. There are links to her online shops where she sells ready-made beads, finished jewelry pieces, bead making kits, and her brand of paper glaze and bead rollers. Part of the sales proceeds are used to buy school supplies for underprivileged children in the Philippines.

Paper Bead Crafts
A one-stop shop for paper bead lovers, Julie A. Bolduc’s site features tutorials, free projects, an online shop, and more. Not to be missed are the Paper Bead Sheet Designer, an application that lets you choose and print various designs on paper based on the dimensions of your beads, and the Universal Marking Template Generator, which lets you create your own cutting template in the size of bead that you want. There are also pre-designed striped bead sheets and basic cutting templates that you can download and print. In addition, you’ll find instructions for making a drying board and three kinds of drying racks for paper beads.

I Love Paper Beads
This site by Dara offers tutorials for that beginners will appreciate, including ways to further decorate paper beads. There are also reviews of paper bead–related products like kits, bead roller tools, sealants, and books on paper jewelry. Aside from that, there are projects that showcase paper jewelry made using other techniques.

Big Bead, Little Bead: How to Make Paper Beads
Although just a page on the Big Bead, Little Bead site, How to Make Paper Beads offers a concise guide on the craft – a bit of history, the basic bead making technique, a discussion of the various bead shapes you can make, and a look at the different papers you can use for beads. The guide is also available as a downloadable PDF which you can share with others for personal and educational purposes.

Studio Tangie Baxter – Lesson 8 and 9: Making Paper Beads
While this is actually the art journalling site of mixed media artist Tangie Baxter, the two articles here on paper bead making (which are part of an art journal lesson) cover the basics of paper bead making, plus ideas on embellishing paper beads the way a mixed media artist would, using thread, wire, silk fibers, glitter, and synthetic fabric. The articles then show how these beads can be used to make bracelets and embellish handmade journals and tags.
