Discover Da Lat - Linh Son Pagoda
Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Linh Son Pagoda is Da Lat, Vietnam’s main pagoda. It is 700 meters from the town’s center. The pagoda is on a hill. The visitor reaches the building by climbing stairs to the hilltop. Ornate handrails line the stairways.

Linh Son Pagoda is known for its Sakyamuni Buddha and huge bell. The Sakyamuni Buddha is in the middle altar. The bronze statue weighs 1,250 kg. The large bell is bronze and gold. It is so large the monks do not worry of theft. It is too heavy for removal.

In the back of the pagoda is a treat for foreign tourists. There are tea and coffee plants. Examine the plants and take a photograph. Next to the pagoda in a separate building, Buddhist books and pamphlets are published. Souvenirs are for sale in the same building.

Linh Son Pagoda is on Nguyen Van Troi Street. Enjoy the pagoda in the cool highlands.
