Our Best Afghans A to Z Review Today I am going to introduce you to Leisure Arts. If you do not already own many of their booklets you are in for a treat. I believe I own to many of their booklets, they are taking over my home. However, I just can’t get enough of them. They are easy to read, easy to travel with and have a wide range of difficulty level in most of their booklets. The photographs are simply beautiful and invite you to crochet. They are simple and inspiring. My favorite Leisure Arts by far is Our Best Afghans A to Z. It is publication #3014 from 1998. I love the afghans in this booklet. There are 26 afghans from A – All American to Z- Zest for the West. They range from elegant to classic to fun and funky. This really has something for everyone. You will not get bored working from this booklet. Just last Christmas my best friend got the All American afghan designed by Linda Luder. I had so much fun working on this pattern. It was an easy pattern and absolutely beautiful when finished. This year I am making the Fresh as a Daisy, designed by Martha Brooks Stein, for my hope chest for my new home. I am also going to be making the Very Victorian afghan, designed by Maggie Weldon, for a wedding gift for a friend getting married next spring. The designs in the book just seem to go on and on. There is a beautiful afghan for all those that just love the granny square. Granny’s Granny is also designed by Martha Brooks Stein. Other afghans include mile-a-minute afghans, ripple afghans, there is even a cross stitched dinosaur afghan. Kid Pleasing Comfort uses the afghan stitch and cross-stitch. There are also two easy baby afghans among the treasure of afghans found in this booklet. Our Best Afghans A to Z really is a masterpiece for the afghan crocheter. The photos always inspire me and the instructions are very clear. When I am trying to figure out what to work on next this book never lets me down. Some day I hope to make them all. It would be nice to have a closet of A to Z afghans that I could choose from for every occasion. Just be ready to get friendly with this book, when your friends see your afghans they will want one to match their own home decor as well. After all you can’t be the only one with a treasured hand crocheted comfy afghan. | Related Articles | Previous Features | Site Map
