This Light and airy jewelry pattern is from the files of the Online Tatting Class and used with permission. Use bright and bold colors for summer wear or delicate metallic threads in rich jewel tones. It is a great pattern for traveling but be sure to load the beads before you get on the plane!
Ring - R
Split Ring - SR
Bead - B
??#?? - the number of double stitches (DS or ds)
Close ring - CL or cl or clr
Double stitch - DS or ds
Shuttle 1 - SH1
Shuttle 2 - SH2
Requirements: 2 shuttles. String beads on Shuttle 1.
This is a very simple pattern made up entirely of a simple spit ring pattern. The filigree effect is achieved by using silver (or bright color) thread and having the bead centered in the bottom of each split ring. The "bottom" means the place where the tatting began on the ring and then it is the same spot that the wrapping of the split ring side begins.
Load beads on SH1 [NOTE: the number of beads needed will depend upon the length of the necklace/bracelet desired].
SR: Place 1B on loop making SR.
SH1: 7ds; slide B to base of SR
SH2: 7ds; CL.
Repeat until necklace/bracelet is desired length.
