Love Chocolate? Hayden Mundy Moore is the protagonist of The Chocolate Whisperer Series by Collette London. This cute series is fun, and has plenty of good information about chocolate. Mundy Moore travels to chocolate shops all over the world to troubleshoot chocolate problems and improve sales – an interesting premise. The novels contain recipes (chocolate recipes, of course), and reading them is a mouthwatering experience.
The Semi-Sweet Hereafter is the third in the series. Hayden Mundy Moore is hired by a celebrity pastry chef to improve her business, and travels to London to use her expertise. Unfortunately, the ex-husband of the celebrity chef (a popular chef himself) is found murdered in Hayden’s quarters; the murder weapon, a stone metlapil, which is used to grind cacao beans, is unfamiliar to most, so Hayden becomes one of the suspects. She must work hard to find the real murderer before she goes to jail.

The regular characters are back, and are well-developed. London’s plots are fun, and not always totally believable, but this is fiction, after all, and Hayden is a fun character along with her bodyguard (and friend), Danny, and money-handler (she has a trust fund), Travis. This novel is a fun, fast read.

Dead and Ganache is the fourth installment in the series. Hayden Mundy Moore takes a trip to France’s Brittany region and anticipates seeing her old chocolate making mentor. However, when she arrives, she finds that the sweet old man has been murdered. Hayden’s money-man, Travis, arrives shortly thereafter, and she spends her time trying to solve the murder.

Readers of this fun series will be delighted, not only because of an interesting and unique plot, but also because of the well-developed and believable characters and the well-written prose. The references to chocolate foods are irresistible, and there are great chocolate recipes included. Nobody doesn’t like chocolate (at least nobody with a brain), and nobody won’t like this delightful series!
