Book Review - Two Great Organic Gardening Titles
These books are great resources for the beginning organic gardener.

Gardening tips:
1. Creating new plants from hosta, liriope or sedum plants in your garden
is easy. Just dig up the entire plant and evenly divide it into three to
four parts. Replant each new plant immediately.

2. If you do not have a cheap source of mulch, you can use flattened
cardboard boxes to keep down weeds on walkways or in other large areas. A
thin layer of mulch on the top of the cardboard will make it look more
attractive.

3. Disguise any bare spots in your garden, including areas where your
perennials are still dormant. Fill an attractive pot with potting soil and
fill the pot with brightly colored annuals. Place the pot in the bare spot
and occassionally check to be sure it is not covering any perennials that
are breaking dormancy.

4. If you have weeds that just won't die, you can bake them away. Rototil
the entire problem area and then cover it with black plastic. Weed seeds
will literally cook after they germinate.
