IntePros Federal Supports Veterans

IntePros Federal Supports Veterans
IntePros Federal is based in Rockville, MD

What does your organization do for veterans?
We are an IT Services firm. We support DOD and Federal Agencies by performing IT functions / services. Many of our employees are former veterans, most of whom hold clearances. We have a few folks back in Iraq and Afghanistan but most are here in the DC metro area. We have two on staff; one as an Account Executive / Business Development professional and one as a Technical Recruiter. I love to hire former military, especially Army, Navy or Marine because you have a known entity.

How did you become involved in this program?
I started IntePros Consulting in 1997 and opened an office in Vienna in 1999 to focus on federal business. Guts and cash.

What was one of your most trying or challenging experiences while working with veterans?
Huh? Vets are the best to work with. Honor, integrity, honesty and the truth are inbred into 95% of all Vets I have ever worked with. Don’t recall having any challenging experiences.

Is there an experience of which you are proudest?
Placing folks in Iraq and Afghanistan. Interviewing fellow vets. There is a bond that develops quickly and it goes both ways. I am responsible for the success of all of the people here. I help them whenever I can to be successful.

How can a vet contact and benefit from what you do?

What advice would you give to someone transitioning out of the military?
Don’t be afraid to leave. If you have completed your service obligation (thank you very much), try something new. The transition is scary until you start the journey. You have been trained to do anything and most importantly, to deal with adversity and challenges.

Here you are, speaking to thousands of veterans. What would you like to tell them?
Beware of the business / civilian world. There are a lot of really ignorant people out there that are not trustworthy. People will lie and cheat and think nothing of it. Your brothers and sisters in the military are a cut above. 90% of success is showing up, on time with a good attitude and yet only about 50% get it. Don’t be afraid to leave but beware when you get there.
