Trendy Sleek Ponytails

Trendy Sleek Ponytails
Ponytails have always been the quick and easy hairstyle for anyone with long hair. In the past, if you didn’t want to shampoo your hair or if you didn’t want to curl your hair or if you got up late and didn’t have time to do your hair, you would just pop it up into a ponytail and it was controlled for the day. Now the ponytail is a trendy hairstyle unto itself. Ponytails are worn to school, to the office, to the prom and parties and are even seen on the Red Carpet.

As in any hairstyle, preparing your hair in advance will provide a nicer result. Shampoo and condition your hair with products that are formulated for your hair texture. Careful selection of excellent quality shampoo and conditioner will leave your hair shiny and manageable.
This ponytail is stationed low at the back of the head. Set your hair on hot rollers, creating lots of curl. Next use a brush to lick all of your hair back to the nape of your hairline and secure it with a covered elastic band. Rub some hair cream or pomade between your hands and then run your hand through your pony tail to calm the curls. Arrange the curls into individual tendrils with your fingers. Put a bit of cream or pomade in your hands and rub your hands from the front hairline to the ponytail to slick down any stray hairs. Spray your hair with shine spray and finish with light hold hairspray. If you have a symmetrical hairline and can wear your hair pulled off your face, this style is great for you.

This ponytail is secured at a mid point in the back of the head. It is worn straight, making it less dressy than the previous pony, although it is still very sophisticated. There is no need to curl your hair, just brush it smoothly back to the center back of your head. Smooth it and shine it in the same way as above.

If you prefer to wear some hair on your face, part your hair on the side and comb it smoothly across your forehead to the side. Spray it with firm hold hairspray. No curls are used in this pony.

This ponytail, situated high on the crown of the head is less sophisticated and more playful in effect. It is used for casual days, stay-at-home or sports events. Smooth your hair back in the same way as in the two previous styles. Dress it up by selecting a strand of hair from the ponytail and wrapping it smoothly around the elastic band. Secure the ends by sliding a bobby pin under the elastic band.

Don’t neglect the finish. Use shine spray to add gloss and hairspray to keep stray hairs in place.
