William Morris Agency Member named GMA Board Chairman
Charles Dorris, vice-president and head of Christian Music at the William Morris Agency in Nashville, will begin his two-year term as Chairman of the Gospel Music Association (GMA) Board of Directors at the first full meeting of the Board’s 2005-06 year on June 21, announced John W. Styll, president of the GMA.

A native of Nashville, Dorris was elected as board chairman last year by the GMA Board of Directors and has been serving as chair-elect. He succeeds Chaffee Management Group President Jim Chaffee as chairman. Dorris has worked as a booking agent in gospel music for more than 20 years, including the past 12 years at William Morris, the largest talent agency in the world. Dorris currently works with artists including Jaci Velasquez, Kirk Franklin, Joy Williams, Switchfoot, Fred Hammond, The Crabb Family, The Oak Ridge Boys and more.

“We are fortunate to have Charles’ guidance and wisdom to lead our board in the next two years. He is one of the most respected and admired professionals in the Nashville music community and will be a tremendous asset to the board,” said Styll.
