Book Review: Tatting Fantasia 2
Guest Author - Gillian Buchanan

Tatting Fantasia 2 is Iris Neibach's second volume in this series. It contains 33 pages of patterns and as an 8 inch square volume in paperback it will be convenient for carrying around in order to have the pattern deatils with you as you work. Iris's work is typically quite complex so it won't be possible for you just to carry the tatting round and memorise the instructions.

Instructions are provided in diagrammatical format with some textual explanation.

The book is in three languages - English, German and Italian - and is based on a theme with a series of variations. Iris has chosen to name the patterns after different variations of anemone.

The patterns include a series of large doilies, wide edgings and elaborate motifs which have become characteristic of Ms Neibach's work and as always the clear diagrams show the paths in which the pattern is worked. Some technical instruction is provided but this volume is not for the beginner and some of the designs which cover several pages will be a challenge even for the experienced worker. It is a lovely book though which will grace the bookshelves of any tatter who is confident with two shuttle or two needle work.

It can be obtained from Iris Neibach at Tatting Online.
