What‘s New?

We are plunging into the details of this country’s greatest piece of writing: the Constitution. Or, more accurately, we are taking a look at its Preamble. Only a few words long, this amazing introduction to the foundation of our country’s beliefs holds a charge that is living and breathing even today. Yet, is it The Preamble -- Prelude To Chaos? Part I?

Civil Rights Trivia Game

Last time we asked the question: The two middle digits of the SSN are often referred to as the 'group number'. Some have said that this 'group number' refers to the racial background of its owner? Yes or No...? The Answer: The answer is No: The middle numbers, number 4 and 5, are actually group numbers. The first 3 numbers prior to 1973 were state identifiers, and after 73 were address identifiers, essentially still state identifiers. Numbers 4 and 5 are group identifiers, and not racial identifiers. They are assigned first all those having odd group code numbers from 01 to 09, then even numbers from 10 to 98, then even from 02 to 08, and finally odd numbers from 11 to 99.

Civil Rights News You Can Use

What do you get when you wrangle about prayer in school, worry about sex education, and are in general so focused on walking on the eggshells of political correctness that you don’t pay attention to our overcrowded schools where underpaid teachers attempt to do the impossible for the ungrateful? Well? Swastikas and other fascist overtures carved into the yard of a local Jewish family. Read the story and be amazed ...“U.S. high school students accused of vandalizing Jewish family's home“.

Featured Book Of The Week

“The author looks at the public actions and declarations of United Farm Workers leader Chávez as a window into the ethical structures in which Chávez believed. He argues that Chávez was deeply rooted in a liberatory Catholic social gospel and that he incorporated prayer into his public action. His commitment to nonviolence and his affirmation of the universality of human dignity is explored. ” (From Book News, Inc., Portland, OR)

Musing Of The Week

We enter parliament in order to supply ourselves, in the arsenal of democracy, with its own weapons. If democracy is so stupid as to give us free tickets and salaries for this bear's work, that is its affair. We do not come as friends, nor even as neutrals. We come as enemies. As the wolf bursts into the flock, so we come. (Paul Joseph Goebbels 1897-1945, German Nazi Propaganda Minister)
