The Democrat/Communist Party Communist Idealism Just as the Communist Party would change our society, the Democrat Party would make the same changes. Both parties demagogue a Marxist idealism that renders their claims anachronistic and even foolhardy in trying to perpetuate a proven failure. In 1919, the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) was founded. The first irony that strikes the reader perusing this party’s constitution is the claim that the party “fights for jobs and economic security, a decent and rising standard of living,” but they claim “living standards of workers and the natural environment on which life depends are under constant attack due to the drive for maximum profits inherent in capitalism.” This reversal of common sense compares to Barack Obama’s answer to high oil prices: Tax the oil companies and give the money to families so they can buy gasoline. Would not an easier way be to simply pass a law lowering the prices? But then the government would not receive all that tax revenue to redistribute. And how would the redistribution work? How would the government decide which families deserved the money? Of course, the answer is, the government would not redistribute that money, except through the ranks of bureaucrats. Nationalize the Oil Companies Liberal Democrat Rep. Maxine Water’s wants to nationalize, (she used the term “socialize” at the congressional hearing with the oil executives), that is, have the government take over and operate the oil companies. Also Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) have all called for nationalization of the oil companies. If we get a government that claims it will operate that way, tax the rich to pay the poor, we can be sure that they will, in fact, tax the rich, but they will not pay the poor. If they did, there would be no reason for people to work and strive to improve their lot in life. Soon there would no longer be any rich, and everyone would be poor except for the government of bureaucrats. Look at Cuba. Other Democrat Demagoguery At a fundraiser in San Francisco for the radical Senator Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton famously declaimed, “Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you. We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” What “track” does Clinton want to get us “back on”? And in a free country, just what is the “common good”? Aren’t we all supposed to be free to decide our own “good” without the intrusion of bureaucrats as long as we do not intrude on the rights of other? We do no elect our governing officials to decide the common good. We elect them to protect us from invasion from foreign countries and make sure only necessary laws are passed that keep the playing field level for each player. We do not expect the government to control our lives by controlling our health care, education, and consumption by robbing us of our earnings.
