Fall & Winter Fashion Jewelry Trends - Designs that Create the Look

Necklaces

It's no secret that the necklaces making the biggest statements this season are long and bold in design, or simple but worn in multiple long layers. Warm, golden colors are especially prominent in these designs, as are eclectic beads and charms. If you're not into long, swingy necklaces, consider shorter, stacked pieces with vintage flair and unusual details like mismatched charms and fringes.

Bracelets

This year bangle bracelets have retuned with a vengeance! They can be thick or thin, colorful or mono-tone, and stacked with other bangles or worn as accents with other bracelet styles. Designers are getting very creative with their bangles, wrapping them with wire, beads, natural fibers, and fabrics. This makes them perfect for jazzing up less-elaborate, comfy outfits (like the basic black sweater and jeans).

Earrings

I know that many of you still love you chandelier earrings. However, I must finally say they're slowly being replaced by longer, more linear designs and bold hoops. But the new styles often incorporate many of the same elements found in the traditional chandeliers we love, like dangles, clusters, and fringes. So don't be afraid to give these newer pieces a try.

Finger rings

Rings continue to be bold and chunky, with oversized colorful stones or enamels. As with other jewelry, gold tones are reining supreme. The key to wearing these big rings successfully is to wear only one or two at a time. Unlike the season's necklaces and bracelets, they don't beg to be stacked or layered. They carry the greatest fashion impact when they're allowed to speak for themselves.

Pins and brooches

Pins and brooches were too big a trend to stay that trendy for very long. But they haven't disappeared! Ornate, regal brooch designs featuring cameos and vintage-style set stones can add subtle impact when worn as jacket closures, to secure a drapey wrap, or even attached to the bottom of a handbag strap. But don't overdo them this season. As with chunky finger rings, let them speak for themselves.
