Supplies:
- Candle – size that will fit your design
- Stamp(s)
- Various Ink Pads
- Heat Embossing Tool
- Something to Color With (i.e. Markers, Pencils with Blender Pens, Lumiere with PearlEx, Twinkling H20s with Water brush).
- Wax Paper – the height of the candle, plus long enough to go around the whole candle and have extra on the back for a “handle.”
Steps:
- Cut a piece of tissue paper a little less then the length of your candle. The width should be a little wider than your design or enough to go around the candle.
- Stamp you image(s) on tissue paper. You can use images that you will color in, or solid images and different ink colors.
- Color in your images if necessary being very careful not to tear the tissue paper.
- You can also heat emboss the image with embossing powder and the heat embossing tool for a different look.
- Cut or tear out your image.
- Very slightly wet the tissue paper on the edges so that it will “stick” to the candle. Place it on the candle where you want the image.
- Using the wax paper, wrap it around the candle so the you can hold on the opposite side of the candle. Hold the wax paper tight against the candle.
- Preheat your embossing gun and then use it to quickly move back and forth over the image on the candle. This will “melt” the image into the candle. Watch carefully and you will see the change. Do not heat too long as this will melt your candle and leave uneven surfaces.
- When you are done heating, roll the candle over the image on a flat surface to even out any bumps and slowly remove the wax paper.
You can use this technique over again to apply more images.
NOTE: Never leave a candle burning unattended!!
