The Road Hammers

The Road Hammers
Wow is all I can say about the CD from The Road Hammers. I have always been a fan of truck driving songs and this was definitely a surprise to me. This Canadian group is something to keep an ear tuned for, this debut album is full of toe tapping new songs and some remakes of older songs.

Jason McCoy, Clayton Bellamy and Chris Byrne make up The Road Hammers, a group that likes to incorporate the sounds that they grew up listening to while adding their own take on the music to the blend and it works. Anyone that remembers the “Smokey and the Bandit” movies will be thrilled to hear Eastbound and Down done by the boys. I dare you to listen to the CD and not have your toe tapping to at least one song, I couldn’t do it if I tried.

What is it about truck driving songs that draws in a listener? Could it be the call of the open road, the idea of seeing parts of the country that you would never see otherwise? I don’t know what it is for you, but I highly suggest that you check out this CD, it just might get you ready to jump behind the wheel for an adventure or it just might get your imagination going trying to decide what part of the country you really want to see.
