How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
Jim Carrey starred in this adaptation of the classic animated story. While the Grinch plans to destroy the Whos’ holidays, it’s up to Cindy Lou Who to save the day while trying to find the true meaning of Christmas. Here are some movie mistakes to look for while watching 2000’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.

• Cindy Lou and Lou Lou Who arrive home to see Betty Lou Who hanging lights on the house. Martha May Who comes outside and shows Betty Lou the machine she bought for hanging Christmas lights on the house and starts to fire the string of lights. The close-up views of Martha May show the spool of lights that’s between her and the machine are lit. But in overhead views, the spool of lights is dark and the lights are only lit when they come out of the machine.

• The Grinch and his dog, Max, arrive in Whoville for the first time. Max is wearing a collar when the Grinch says “Let’s go home” before they get in the chute. But as they start to get in the chute, when the Grinch says “fleas before beauty”, Max’s collar is gone. It’s back again when the Grinch and Max are going through the chute.

• The Cheermeister event doesn’t go exactly as planned. The Grinch gets upset and starts to create chaos in Whoville. The Grinch stands next to the town’s Christmas tree and proceeds to set fire to it. In the close-up view, the Grinch is standing next to the tree. In the overhead view, the Grinch jumps into the arms of the person standing next to him (in the lower left of the screen). In the next close-up, the Grinch is back in his original position, standing next to the tree.

• The Grinch has taken all of the Christmas presents and decorations from the Whos and has loaded up his sleigh. The last thing he does is douse all the lights in the Whos’ village. The lights are back on in one view during his first attempt to take off in the sleigh.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000) was directed by Ron Howard and narrated by Anthony Hopkins. This family friendly film stars Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Molly Shannon, Bill Irwin, Christine Baranski and Jeffrey Tambor. It runs 104 minutes and is rated PG for some crude humor.
