Taking Time to Pamper Yourself

Taking Time to Pamper Yourself
Many of us are so busy that we rarely take the time to pamper ourselves. We don't realize it, but taking some time away from the stresses of life is important to healthy living.

So here are some quick and simple things you can do to pamper yourself and feel better.

Bubble Bath by Candlelight - Taking a bubble bath by candlelight is a great way to take time away from daily priorities. If possible, choose a time when it's quiet in the house and you won't have any distractions.

Fill the tub with water which is a comfortable temperature (be care not to use water that's too hot!) and light your favorite candle. Grab a nice clean pair of pajamas to have on hand when you're finished with your delightful soak.

Personal Pedicure - Receiving a pedicure is another way to provide you with some down time. If you are not able to go to the local salon, consider giving yourself a personal pedicure. Use a footbath or pedicure tub and run warm water. Add some foot soak to the water and allow your feet to soak for about 10 minutes, or longer. This will help your nails to soften as well as your skin.

After soaking time is finished, you can use an abrasive scrub or stone to remove dry skin from your feet. Then, follow this with clipping your toe nails to the desired length while nails are still soft. Finish pampering your skin with some soft, silky lotion to rehydrate the skin. If desired, polish toe nails with your favorite color of polish.

Refresh Bedroom Sheets - While life can keep you very busy, taking the time to refresh your bedroom sheets will produce peaceful feelings. If desired, you can place your comforter into the dryer and use the fluff setting. Use a favorite fragrance spray to fill the air with aromatherapy. If you do this close to your bedtime, you will fall into bed and feel more relaxed to sleep for the evening.

Deep Conditioning Treatments - There are a variety of ways to treat your hair and get it feeling soft and sily. One way is to do a deep conditioning treatment. The process takes about 30 minutes of your time. After showering, place a quality conditioning balm on your hair. Wrap your hair in a plastic cap, and place a towel over this to hold in heat. Allow to remain on hair for 20 to 30 minutes, followed by rinsing.

Calling a Friend - Another way to provide some down time is by calling an old friend. Maybe you've recently been reunited with an old classmate. Give them a call and allow yourself some time to talk without distraction. It's amazing how much taking the time to talk can be very relaxing and healthy for you.

Get Out of the House - If you're a stay at home mom, one way to refresh yourself is to get out of the house for a while. Get a babysitter for a few hours or trade off with another stay home mom. The point is to go somewhere by yourself, like to the coffee shop, and relax or even have a latte! If you're a working mom, plan a short get away over the weekend. The time frame can be as short as a half of a day, or if you're very luck, for the entire weekend!
