The ImposterKevin Max

Once a member of the Grammy award winning group dc Talk, Kevin Max has delivered a rock-pop feel good project that deals with the age old Christian conflict...the war between flesh and spirit. Starting with "Confessional Booth" this tune give you a strong electric guitar, a pounding drumbeat and a passionate Max singing about taking back the things he says and does, and the excuses we give for saying and doing them. What a message! Where else would you confess this problem but in a confessional? Next he moves to the stand out pop-vibe tune "Imposter" which deals with the false person that lives in all of us. The lyrics "There'll be no more faking, no more of my charade, I know I'm giving up the imposter in me" allows the listener to know that with God's grace we can become the true person that he wants us to become. Another track to notice is the ballad "Your Beautiful Mind" which speaks of the many questions we, as believers are often asked regarding the full beauty of God's purpose in our lives and the answers that are found in everything the master has created. Max wrote this tune for a non-believer and brilliantly sings of their questions and their true desire to know the beautiful mind of God. The funky bass filled "Royal Path of Life" a great head banging track and the Bob Dylan classic "When He Returns" are also tunes to check out. And so it is...Jontez

This debut album from the former member of the group God's Property is filled with a host of soulful tunes. Opening with the Latin-flavored, R&B groove "Can't Get Enough" Jontez sings wonderfully of the contagious nature of the love of God. Noting his Latino background he ends the tune with the Spanish lyrics " El murio por ti por mi en la cruz del calvario.' which (loosly translated)means "He died for you and me on the cross at Calvary" The smooth flowing, bass-bumping "I Am" is up next and with a flowing vocal style that is reminiscent of crooners gone by, Jontez jazzily sings of the Great I Am. He also offers listeners wonderful love tunes with the songs "Call Me Your Own" and "Anything for Love". Finally the track to listen to is the beautiful ballad "I'm Not Alone" which highlights the graceful vocal talent of Jontez and reminds us that God is always with us even in times of despair.
