Being A Parent
Guest Author - Danielle Hollister

BEING A PARENT

Being a parent is a life sentence, from the day your child is born, you will never be free again!

You are not released from this sentence when your child turns 18.

You are granted no reprieve when your child leaves home.

You will worry about his future as long as you live, no matter how far away he is, physically and emotionally.

Every day of your life you will wonder about that child's future, pray for his health, and wish for his happiness.

You will not hesitate for a moment to give your life for his if it is required of you.

Though he/she will break your heart, ruin your possessions, and bankrupt you, you ask for no parole: for the sentence is self-inflicted.

The sentence however is not without it's own rewards;

  • the flowers he'll pick for you,

  • the cards he/she will make for you, the hugs,

  • the kisses, the goofy grins & sleepy smiles.

The only release from this bond is your own death; and then the last thought on your dying mind will be...

"WILL HE/SHE BE all right WITHOUT ME ?"

P.S.

As kids we think our parents are crazy and they don't make any sence to us. But, As we become parents our selves we understand and we now look up too them with compassion, for all they did for us.

Parenting is the toughtest job in the world today and I just want to say as a parent myself, God bless all the Moms And Dads who are doing their best to raise their kids up to be good parents too someday!
