Born when the moon shines full
Destined to avoid Samsaras pull

Leaving his royal life behind
An end to suffering he hoped to find

With fasting and pain
He did not gain

By stilling his mind
Not wanting to find

Maras temptation wasn’t enough
A man overcame Samsaras bluff

He wanted to sit and stay in meditation
Shared his findings after much contemplation

A path was laid out
An escape from no doubt

Without the extremes one is at peace
The middle path is the way to cease

The Noble Eightfold Path
Laid for you to hath

Understand by being in the know
Tame the thoughts the mind will sow

Speech and actions go hand in hand
What you say and do on this land

Livelihood the career you choose
Hurt no one and you won’t lose

Effort is just that
Try hard to learn that fact

Mindfulness is developed by meditation
What follows is concentration

The Four Noble Truths tells us why
Samsara is a lie

Happiness has an end
Always something around the bend

Craving more then food
We do more harm then good

To end this fray
There is a way

The Noble Eightfold Path
That the Buddha laid for you to hath

Here I will repeat
So listen to this treat

Understand by being in the know
Tame the thoughts the mind will sow

Speech and actions go hand in hand
What you say and do on this land

Livelihood the career you choose
Hurt no one and you won’t lose

Effort is just that
Try hard to learn that fact

Mindfulness is developed by meditation
What follows is concentration

A man born under a full moon realized this
Follow these words, you can not miss

Still your mind
Leave Samsara behind
