Medium Length for the Woman Who is Over Forty

This style extends just to shoulder length. It is layered enough to keep the top fuller and the bottom narrow.
Longer hair is not always the best choice for a woman over 40 or over 50. The down lines will accentuate sagging skin. Don't give up on your dreams of stylishly longer hair.

Lifting the bangs up off your forhead will show off your eyes to better advantage. Lift the hair with a comb as spray with a firm hold hairspray in that area only. This will keep the lift in place while allowing the rest of your hair to flow. Do the same thing with the sides, lifting them off your face to accentuate your cheek bones.
Keep your hair close and simple at chin level and below. This softens the lines of the chin and neck.

Younger girls may be able to wear hair that is perfectly straight. A soft wave or curve in the style is often more attractive and still very stylish.
