Dolorean Review

Dolorean Review
As an all-American band based out of Portland, Oregon, Dolorean are alternative rockers with an obvious indie/pop vibe. Since forming in 2003, Dolorean have created beautiful, thought-provoking pop music that has brought immense praise from industry critics, fans, as well as fellow musicians alike.

Dolorean is composed of band members Al James (guitar/vocals), Jay Clarke (organ/piano), Ben Nugent (drums/percussion/vocals), James Adair (bass), and Emil Amos (guitar).

After being signed onto Partisan Records, Dolorean has toured throughout Europe, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, and the United States to promote all the hard work and musical genius that they create within the studio. However, after the release of their 2007 album, You Can't Win, Dolorean went on a hiatus until 2010. Guitarist/vocalist Al James told TheWaster.com in an interview We had released about three records in about five years. There was a lot of touring, a lot of time in the studio and I think we all just needed a little bit of break ... We just needed a little break to re-calibrate and get some good energy going again.

Doloreans EPs include Sudden Oak, which was released in 2000 and re-released in 2004, as well as Anticipation Blues, in 2010. Their official albums include their debut recording Not Exotic in 2003, Violence in the Snowy Fields in 2004, You Cant Win in 2007, and The Unfazed in 2011. Clearly, Dolorean is an extremely hard-working and dedicated band who loves the work they do and the music they create.

All of Doloreans songs gesture at folk and country, yet they do it quietly, slowly, and with an impeccable stillness. However, despite all the indie folk aspect of their musical creations, the band still manages to produce wild and passionate songs. Their albums contain subtlety, musicianship and the kind of lyrical sophistication that is only seen in the most creative of musical geniuses.
