It Takes TwoVision of Harmony
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.usAngela Hill and Valencia Watkins have been singing together since their teen years. To look at them now you would think these two sisters are still youngsters but on their latest project "It Takes Two" these wives and mothers showcase an old soul and a true heart for God. Opening with the pop-infused ballad "Never Let U Go" the girls sing of holding onto God through all their problems and trials. Something we all should strive to do daily. Another standout on the project "Brand New Eyes" is an up-tempo and fresh song which speaks of viewing the world with brand new eyes after being baptized. The nice bass beat and soft vocals on this track from the ladies make this tune a nice head bopping groove. The ballad "Too Late" which speaks of accepting Christ before his coming allows the ladies to sweetly blend their harmonious voices in song. It’s Not OverKaren Clark Sheard

Karen Clark Sheard is fierce…plain and simple! This CD opens with a resounding live sound that is hot and bumping; one that could only be offered by none other than the top selling production team of Aaron Lindsey and Israel Houghton. “Rejoice and Be Glad” is an opener song if ever there was one and the vibe of this tune gets your feet moving right from the beginning. The power packed and flavored filled vocals of Sheard rip-roar all over this track. Each riff and run that she delivers add to the percussion and horn infused song and she ushers in a praise party with a style that is only Karen Clark Sheard. Recorded at her home church Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ, where her husband Reverend J. Drew Sheard is the pastor, this first lady truly sings praises unto God with a vocal ability that was blessed upon her by the mighty one himself. She moves smoothly into a blend of old and new with the tune “I Never Will with You Brought the Sunshine” where she sings her defining hit along side her new tune “I Never Will” the driving bass on each tune works well and allows both songs to merge with ease. The fullness of her voice shines on this tune. Other standouts are the spirit filled “Authority” which calls God’s people to stand up and re-claim power over evil and the wonderful ballad “Favor” which showcases the tender soprano style of Sheard. Rounding out this project are the PAJAM produced “You Showed Me” a heart filled ballad and “A Living Testimony” a funk flavored gospel jam produced by John Drew Sheard II respectively.
