SHeDaisy – Fortuneteller’s Melody

In what almost seems to be a male dominated country music industry these 3 sisters don’t really get the recognition they deserve. With their fourth release hitting the streets, hopefully that will all change. I have always been a big fan of their sound and harmonies. They first made their debut during the Faith Hill, Shania Twain and Dixie Chicks big chart busting songs and then seemed to just fall off the charts all together. They came back in 2004 with The Whole SHebang and then fell off the radar again. Kristyn has written the majority of the songs on this offering, co-writing 2 with Sheryl Crow and 1 with Don Shlitz. The only one not written by Kristyn is the God Bless the American Housewife.

From their perfect harmonies on the ballads to their tongue in cheek song God Bless the American Housewife the sisters present a wonderfully put together CD for their present and future fans. I’m Taking the Wheel is the first release and has been rising on the country charts with tons of airplay on country music radio. God Bless the American Housewife was featured on the soundtrack for the “Desperate Housewives” soundtrack. The video is too funny and if you get a chance to see it, please do!

She Gets What I Deserve is one of the best tracks on the CD, it’s about being the other woman in a love triangle. You can feel the angst in the lyrics and the girls come across wonderfully. Burn Down the House is a toe tapping, in your face song about leaving things behind and moving on to the next step. Kicki’ In talks about a relationship that is growing old and it’s time for it to end.

All in all a good time for the listener, from one side of relationships to the other. Give it a listen and see what you think!
