How To Sell Your Horse

How To Sell Your Horse
Selling your horse can be such a hard decision I know. So many things go through your head because you want them to go to a loving home where they will be taken care of. Here are some things to do to help you out when selling your horse.

There are a few options you can try for selling your horse such as taking them to a show, listing them on the equine classified websites, local newspapers, magazines and on Social media sites.

Make up flyers or postcards and post at your local tack shops, feed stores, barn bulletin boards or at your local veterinarian's offices. Be sure to tell all your friends as word of mouth can be a great way to get the word out.

Selling At A Show
Take your horse to a show and try to sell them there. This may be a good idea if the horse has previously been shown successfully because you could have several potential buyers. If the horse has not been shown this may not be the best idea as the horse may become nervous.

Horse shows require paying for a stall. They will also require your horse to have a coggins and in some cases health papers. If showing there will be entry fees you have to pay. Taking them to a show is a one-time shot as opposed to advertising them on the equine classified websites. However, people would have the opportunity to see the horse in person and handle them which can make the buying process easier.

Taking them to a show could cost more money than putting them on the equine classified websites.

Post Ads On Classified Websites
Place your ad on several classified websites such as DreamHorse, Equine.com, HorseClicks, EquineNow, EquineHits and NewHorse. These are just a few of the sites where you could list your horse as there are many more. This could be a good choice for selling your horse because you have the opportunity to get your horse seen by more people worldwide. The ad can run anywhere from several weeks to months and depending on the type of ad you place you can add several pictures and a video link.

Take all of these things into consideration when selling your horse as you may want to try all of them. The more places you can get your horse seen the faster you will get them sold.
