MINI CROSS PATTERN

Teeny Tiny Cross

MATERIALS

  • 2 tatting shuttles
  • Paperclip
  • Manuela No. 20 Crochet Cotton (or similar size)

SIZE

  • Width = 3.25 cm
  • Height = 5 cm

  1. Wind about 1/2 a yard of thread onto Shuttle 1 and 3 yards thread onto Shuttle 2
  2. SH1
    Take the paper clip and insert it over your thread. Make your first stitch as close as you can to the paper clip. C 6 DS, P, 6 DS, do not RW.

  3. SH2
    R 8 DS, P, 3 DS, cl. R, do not RW.

  4. SH1
    C 6 DS, P, 6 DS, tighten chain to desired tension to form large ring, remove paper clip, downwards J to tiny loop left by paper clip (you will need a very fine crochet hook for this). Make two unflipped half stitches to form a neat turn at the bottom of the mock R. *Reinsert paper clip over SH1 thread and push it up to base of the 1st mock ring.

  5. SH1
    C 6 DS, J to adjacent P, 6 DS, do not RW.

  6. SH2
    R 8 DS, P, 8 DS, cl. R, do not RW.

  7. SH1C 6 DS, P, 6 DS, tighten chain to desired tension to form large ring, remove paper clip and J into space left by paper clip with downwards join; make two unflipped half stitches to form turn.
  8. Repeat from * once more, you will have formed 3 arms of the teeny tiny cross.
  9. Now make a Split Ring of 6 DS, J to adjacent P, 6 DS/6DS, J to adjacent P, 6 DS, cl. R, do not RW.
  10. Make 3 split rings of 8 DS/8 DS, finish ends. Cross is completed!
