With the 2012 holiday season upon us, more and more artists and musicians are adding their versions of holiday songs to the constantly growing list. This year, emerging artists Bunny Sigler, Margo Rey, and RJ Comer from Dance Hall Pimps are releasing their Christmas music to kick the season off in a musical way.
Following the previous Emerging Music review of adult contemporary artist Margo Rey, the talented singer is currently promoting her holiday EP, titled “This Holiday Night.” Already having reached number six in the nation on the Adult Contemporary music charts, “This Holiday Night” is quickly gaining momentum and recognition from the Billboard charts. With the EP’s title track also named “This Holiday Night,” the classical-inspired song is written as though the holidays are being seen from the eyes of a child. Margo Rey is promoting the EP with a month-long tour up until December 23, 2012 with fellow musicians Dave Kez and Sheila E.
Dance Hall Pimps, a group of Americana musicians whom were also previously reviewed on the Emerging Music site, are celebrating the holidays with a solo debut single release titled “It Won’t Be Christmastime (‘Round Here)” from band member/front man RJ Comer. The original, digital single takes a somber look at the holidays in an emotional way. Keeping with the Dance Hall Pimps’ Americana styling, RJ Comer creates believability through the single that will touch each listener in the unique way that holiday songs can.
Lastly, newcomer to the Emerging Music site and R&B legend Bunny Sigler brings us a festive, twelve-song holiday release titled “When You’re In Love At Christmas Time.” Continuing to show his fans that his musical passion goes much deeper than his beloved soul songs, Bunny Sigler masterfully delivers smooth Christmas classics, such as “White Christmas” and “Little Drummer Boy,” with his strong, powerhouse vocals. Sigler also has created a few festive originals for the album that contain his R&B and Gospel genre roots.
