Hair, Cloth, Setup and Content Rooms in Poser 6

The Hair Room

The Hair Room is the place to work on your character's hair, mustache or beard. Or, you might want to change your character from a handsome man to a hairy wolfman. You can even change his sweater to a fur coat. You have three types of hair to work with in Poser. The easiest to use is the Prop-based Hair which we talked about before. The second is Conforming Hair which acts as a "body part" in that all the hair moves together as one object. The third, and most realistic, is the Dynamic Hair which is strand-based and therefore moves realistically in animations. You can control the characteristics of the hair such as color, thickness and length with the Growth Controls. You can also style his hair with the Styling Controls tool and animate the hair with the Dynamics Controls.

The Cloth Room

The Cloth Room is the "dressing room" in Poser. Here is where you will work on the character's clothing. The simple way is to use Conforming Clothing which, like Conforming Hair, is somewhat basic. But, you also have Dynamic Clothing which has motion and gravity dynamics to cause the cloth to move realistically in animations.

The Setup Room

In the Setup Room, you can create your own posable clothing and characters. One of the nicest features in Poser is the character's bone structure which is used to control movement. The bone structure or skeleton in Poser works somewhat like the bones in your own skeleton. If you move you head, your shoulders and upper body respond. The Poser skeleton structure works that same way. You can even use the Bone Tool to create your own custom skeleton structure.
