“Knowledge of peace
passes from country to country,
like children's games,
which are so much alike, everywhere.”
Yehuda Amichai (1924 - 2000)
Peace and children, something that goes hand in hand. Children have always been the peace keepers, whether it is in their own families, neighborhoods or the world. Children are the ones that teach peace to us all. I found the above quote when I signed online today. I get a new quote every day and today’s touched my heart, and I hope it touched yours.
We live in turbulent times, there always seems to be a war going on somewhere. There are leaders in the world that are good and bad and people are tortured and killed daily.
Put two children together from totally different cultures and give them a ball or game and they play peacefully. It is only as we grow up that we build prejudice and hatred for one another. We have boarders both on maps and in our minds. If, we pulled away and took a look at the world from space what would we see? A big round-ball of blue oceans and green, brown, and white landscape with no boarders. When we can all be more like children, pick up the ball and play nice with one another without hatred and prejudice, we can truly live in peace as “One Planet One People”
