BellaOnline Romance Novels Book Club?

Hi, and welcome back. Hope you're all getting plenty of reading time in this summer.

I've been thinking about the possibility of starting up a book club for the site, but before I go much further, I need to know how much interest there is in something like this. If only a couple people are interested, well, then a book club isn't a necessity. But if we have a decent number of people who're willing to participate, then we ought to get it started.

A few ideas I've been tossing around are to do one book a month--read one week and then discuss for the next couple weeks before announcing the next month's book. There'd be absolutely no bashing of authors--it's hard enough for writers to do their job without people taking potshots at them. We'd do the discussions in the forum--very simple registration for those who haven't been there yet, and plenty of other discussions taking place to keep everyone happy. Something else I considered is that we may be able to get a few authors to join us occasionally in our book discussions. Authors are always interested in chatting with their readers, and it's fun for the readers as well.

I'm going to set a deadline for response to this for September 1, 2002. Either email me at romancebooks@bellaonline.org or come to the forum where we've already got a discussion started on this topic.

Until next week, happy reading!
