Orchid Gifts for 2006

Orchid Gifts for 2006
This year as I was looking for the best gifts for orchid lovers, I was amazed at the new and innovative products I found. There are several new stores just dedicated to orchid gear; new jewelry sites; lots of sites which feature orchids on necklaces and one of our previous sites which has absolutely stunning orchid sculptures on wood bases. There are new tile products and some really innovative desk accessories. I've added some high end items this year such as glass plates with orchids, subtle entertaining items with embossed orchids, and more. If any of you have found a wonderful orchid product out there, please let me know and I'll let all your fellow readers know about it. I found some really fabulous tote bags too.

I'll be starting with vendors who supply a number of different products such as clothing, tote bags, and desk products featuring orchid themes. Future articles will concentrate on products which are more artistic in nature, supplies, jewelry, decorative items, subscriptions for the serious orchid grower, statuary and then some interesting items that a grower might be interested in.

Vendors Supplying General Orchid Products

The most interesting new US vendor I found this year is Celebrate Orchids. They offer a number of items on their website and assure me that they can find any kind of orchid related product you might be looking for. Online they have nice embroidered totes, an orchid throw, embroidered clothing, soaps and candles.

3DRose has a nice selection of products (type "orchid" in the search criteria box and then press enter). I received a sample of the coasters and the mouse pad and am thoroughly enjoying them. The photography is nice and the products high quality. Their desk clock is a product I did not see last year and it is really nice!

A new vendor with a number of interesting products is Orchids for You located in Weston-super-Mare in the South-West of England. They have a nice variety of clay orchids, lovely candles and soaps, and various other products made with real orchids. I was impressed with their selection and the pictures of their shop. For those of you lucky enough to be near them, I'd recommend that you try to make a visit!

For a nice selection of tee shirts, tote bags and paper products check out Wild Safari orchid products.

I have been informed that the American Orchid Society is no longer selling orchid products through the Orchid Emporium at its site. You may still purchase memberships, books and magazines through the site.

Clothing Vendors

For sheer variety and beauty of products, Milo's Bali Orchids is hands down the best clothing vendor on the web. His products are extraordinarily beautiful and he has more variety than any one else I've found.

A new vendor who sells products on eBay is Analei Orchids. Her shirts are very nice, I received a sample and recommend the tee shirt. There is an orchid on the front and a pattern on It runs a bit small so be sure to take that into account. I wore mine to the Houston Orchid Society meeting recently and it was very well received.

For a high-end handbag, check out Really Linda Barker. This purse is absolutely beautiful! The vendor is located in the UK so if you're ordering from the US, be sure to do so early.
