I'm no doubt dating myself by using this term, but use it I will. Louise Setara is cold blooded! That is a term of affection, of respect, and appreciation. It is a term meaning that she hit a chord that sent chills down my spine. She did.
Her rendition of "Circle" brought tears to my eyes. "Love Me Still" and "Let it Be Me" are truly great covers. You've got to have a lot of talent and a lot of moxie to cover Chaka Khan, and also a very strong grip on an express star going skyward to be comfortable enough to touch and excel on this Roberta Flack classic. Louise has it all.

Something I particularly enjoyed was "Sylvie". This is a tune Louise does with Ladysmith Black Mambazo's choir. It is riveting.
Louise was eighteen when this CD was completed, and there are several references to her as "an old soul". She appears to be that, but I also believe she has one of those gifts that is rooted like an enduring old oak tree that invariably withstands all the storms that comes its way. If this is the beginning for her she still has a long way to go, and if this is the way she's starting it, in due time she is certain to blow us all away. I am getting ready now for this perfect storm!
The CD is entitled "Still Waters" and it is on the EMI label. Get it!
