Valentine’s Day Book Recommendations Reviews by Jeanette Norman One of my children’s favorite Valentine’s books. Follow little Cornelia as she catches hearts raining from the sky in her raincoat to take home to make special Valentine’s. What I really like about this story is how it teaches that the simplest things that you can do for someone to make them happy is so worth the effort. Children will have fun guesses who each Valentine is for! Elmo has to decide who on Sesame Street should get his Valentine. Children will have fun passing Elmo’s Valentine to each character in the book! When Wesley (my son) asked me why we have Valentine’s Day, the librarian at our local library recommended this one. It is a simple way of explaining how the tradition started in Rome when Valentine prayed for a miracle for a child. This is slightly Christianized story. This story is just adorable. It is another that teaches children about doing nice things for people in your life and how good it makes you feel. It is told in rhyme so it is very appealing to young ages. | Related Articles | Previous Features | Site MapContent copyright © 2008 by Diane Claus. All rights reserved.
