Moe: Why did you become a Toil Girl?

Angie: About 6 years ago I was chatting to a friend online and she added a signature to her post, which I fell in love with; as it turned out, it was one of Les Toils creations. After I found his website I always wanted to be a Toil Girl, so I contacted Les about a portrait. At the time I was having problems with abscesses inside my breast and lost the confidence to continue with my enquiries about having a portrait done. In 2004 I went to the Doctors about yet another abscess & by that evening I was coming around from a operation that had removed the abscess and part of my breast with it. At the time I thought I was ugly and disfigured, as I now had one breast smaller than the other. My size was never a issue with me until the operation and my self esteem took a really big blow. About 18 months after my operation, my husband gave me the money to have my portrait done. At first I didn't want to but after some persuading from my husband I went ahead with contacting Les.
Moe: What does the imagery in your pin-up represent?
Angie: When I was thinking of my theme for my portrait I wanted people who look at it to see how proud I am to be British, but on a personal level I choose it for my hubby who collects anything with the British flag on it. Even though it is on Les's web site for the world to see my hubby can look at it and know it is just for him. The outfit was Les's idea which I just loved when I was shown the draft of it,
Moe: What has being a Toil Girl done for you personally?
Angie: Becoming a Toil Girl has given me back a lot of the self esteem I lost after the operation. Even with my breast being uneven in size and being a BBW I am still a beautiful person and Les has helped show that. I have my portrait hanging in my living room for all to see.
Moe: What do you hope your image says to other plus size women?
Angie: I hope my image says to other plus size women that no matter your size, shape or any imperfections you think you have you are still a beautiful person, and never to forget it no matter what people say.
Moe: What do you hope it says to men?
Angie: To be honest I have never thought about this one but now you ask I would like it to say to men that all women are beautiful in there own way no matter their size, shape or any imperfections.
Moe: Do you have any advice for someone thinking of becoming a Toil Girl?
Angie: Go for it! As I said before, I had doubts but I was so happy my husband gave me the push. It is one of the best things I have ever had done for myself. Les Toil is not just a talented artist he is a wonderful person who sees only the beauty in you.
