Super Bowl Gospel Celebration Review
All Photos by: Paulette Singleton www.saintsinpraise.com
The 8th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration was filled with good music, good spirits and good times. Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, the first time host did a wonderful job as he kept the crowd pumped up and in great spirits telling numerous jokes and along with his co-host Dr. Bobby Jones, awarding various prizes through out the evening.
J Moss/ 2103
J Moss kicked off the program opening with a melody of his hits and encouraging the crowd to get out of their seats and get the "praise party" started. Backed by the energetic 2103, Moss and crew rocked it and even did a few high steppin' dance moves to boot. Ok brothers I ain't mad at ya! I spoke to J who stated he was just so honored to be a part of the event. "Big ups to Ms. Melanie Few for bringing me out this year. She has had my cousins KiKi and the Clark Sisters on the roaster so now she gave me a chance to come out and do my 'thang' so I'm just happy to be here."
Next up was Tye Tribbet and GA whose power packed, high energy, head bumping set was one to see for sure. Even Moss had to come from behind the stage to check it out for himself and party with the rest of the crowd. A full scale hip-hop praising session is what Tye Tribbet and GA deliver every time and this show was no different.
From Ray Lewis sharing his testimony to Tommie Harris singing "I Won't Complain" various NFL football stars graced the stage. The winning coach of the Super Bowl Mr. Tony Dungee was honored and graciously thanked everyone for their support.
Hezekiah Walker, who has been a Super Bowl Gospel Celebration favorite for many years, did not disappoint the crowd this year. He and the Love Fellowship Choir blessed the audience with a stellar performance as usual.
A surprise was in store for the audience when "The Diva" herself Ms. Patti LaBelle took to the stage and performed a song that she stated her late sister and mother had requested she would sing when she finally recorded her gospel album. Her rendition of "Walk Around Heaven" blessed us all!
Finally the show stopper Ms. Yolanda Adams went into a preaching frenzy as she shared her personal testimony with the audience. The show ended with her song "Victory" and the entire line-up joined Yolanda to put their V's up and show everyone there is victory in praising God even at the biggest NFL event...the Super Bowl.
