The day has finally arrived when the country music artists find out who will be up for the coveted CMA awards in Nashville on November 7th.

Leading the group of nominees are Brad Paisley and George Strait with five nominations. Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride and Alison Krauss all follow with four and with three nominations Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and John Rich round out the top nominees.

If you are wondering, nominations are based on work released from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. The only way to nominate an artist is to become a member of the CMA. There are three rounds of voting, the first to get a list of nominees, the second to narrow the field down to 5 acts and the last round is to determine who gets the award that year.

For the second year, there are a limited amount of tickets going on sale for fans thru Ticketmaster. If you are interested in attending the award show, you should keep an eye out for them, they aren’t going to last long.
