It could be said that Frederick Mellinger, founder of Frederick's of Hollywood, started the whole sexy starlet campaign of women baring their unmentionables in Hollywood. Before him, women wore the basic white functional necessities. When he moved to Hollywood in 1947 he brought with him the sexy allure of black. Today, women's lingerie can pretty much come in any color.

Selection: The bras at Frederick's of Hollywood are organized by collection or style. There is something for extreme cleavage, smooth coverage, liquid dreams, push ups, demis, padded and seamless. Some exclusively for Frederick's. I found about 28 styles of bras for full figures. There is also some hosiery and a body shaper.

The best way to find plus sizes is to pick a category (bra or lingerie, there's nothing in clothing). They are further divided by collection or style. If you choose Bras you will find "Full Figure" in the style section. If you shop under Lingerie then you'll find "plus size" under the style selection. This one provides all the bras from the previous section.

Sizing: Their bra sizes go from 32A - 42F with a few DD in between but nothing fuller. The few plus size pieces of lingerie offered come in sizes 1x - 3x.

Styling: Sexy, Hollywood glamorous. Lots of lace and satin.

Pricing: I found ones as affordable as $19 and some as expensive as $36.

Availability: They ship throughout the U.S. and Canada. And the shipping is the same! This is the only place I've come across so far that doesn't charge a ridiculous amount for shipping to Canada.

Overall Impression: Beautiful, flattering, sexy styles. I was surprised to see they had any plus sizes at all although there isn't a huge selection. If you're looking for a site that caters to your needs including using women in your likeness I'm sorry to say you won't see a plus size model here. You have to do a bit of searching through their styles but each style has a drop down menu that lets you know at a glance the sizes available for that item.

It's nice to see more retailers offering plus sizes but there is still so much they can do.
