Ok so I was on my way to the Gospel Concert portion of the For Sisters Only Conference sponsored by the Atlanta hit station V-103 (The Peoples' Station) and was running late. If anybody knows me they know that most of the time I'm either early or on time but for this particular day I was late.

Billed as "two full days of fun for the whole family" The For Sisters Only Conference features great musical performances from the likes of Deitrick Haddon, Ciara, Monica and a host of top artists. On top of that there are tons of vendors that offer great shopping, ("sistas" always buy their purses at FSO...please believe it!) salon services, health screenings, and a meet and greet section for the V-103 DJ's and celebrity guest. There are freebies for everybody and it is just plain old fun at FSO! Don't take my word for it...ask the more than 20,000 people who attend every year.

So anyway I was late and needless to say frustrated and by the time I got there the Gospel concert was in the last stages. I got there in time to hear a little music and see my buddy and one of my favorite Gospel DJ's Larry Tinsley leave the stage. So to say I was not a happy camper was an understatement.

What was I going to focus my article on now....I thought but I didn't need to worry because the artists that followed the Gospel concert were "off da chains" and well worth a mention in this article? Yes I know I normally only write about Gospel here but I'm a mother (with teens) so I know about the other artists and please believe me when I say they all gave top notch performances.

I have a totally new-found respect for the artists that made up the Sunday line-up from the dancing machine Ciara, the smooth vocals of Heather Hedley, the power-packed raps of Ludacris and the "lady pleasing" Sammie these artists gave the crowd a show to remember. Sammie even passed out roses to several of the ladies in the crowd...what a charmer.

I found myself really enjoying the show and forgetting that earlier I was a frustrated little woman. It was great to be right next to the stage to see all of the action. During the breaks between the shows I went shopping, I mean come on...I'm a girl right. I also found some great nachos and hot wings to munch on.

My children talked about FSO for days and my daughter and her friend even took a picture with Sammie who was so nice to them both. "Mom you have the best job" said my son Clinton.

All in all it was a great event and we had a wonderful time. I found myself wishing I had asked for media passes for both days...hum...I think I will do that next year.
