Costume Craze

Matthew Maloney along with co-founders Kathleen and Katie Maloney started Costume Craze in 2001. What started as a home-based business has grown into a national company with support staff and a large inventory of Halloween products. They offer a selection of costumes in many sizes and ages as well as accessories like swords, wigs etc.

Selection: Costume Craze's plus size costumes are found under the heading "Costumes for Full-Figured Adults". There are 140 plus size styles to choose from some of which I've never seen before. There were lots of fairies, a couple different styles of pirates, batgirl, southern belle, Viking woman, wonder woman (pictured), super girl and princess Fiona. Read the fine print as the costume may not be all you see.

Sizing: The sizing is ambiguous. It looks like the plus size costumes only come in one "full" size this year and it really isn't clear in the costume descriptions who that is suppose to fit and the size chart is useless. It doesn't list any plus sizes other than a 12 - 14. It's too bad because there is such a great selection of styles.

Pricing: Affordable to expensive, $30 - $140.

Availability: Costume Craze has a flat shipping rate of $5.99 (U.S only) no matter what you order. They will ship to the United States, Canada and Internationally.

Overall Impression: This was a new one for me last year. I was quite impressed with their style selection. I like how the thumbnail views include price and whether the item is in stock. They have lots of styles I haven't seen before but unfortunately their sizing information sucks. For sexy, take a look at Plus Size Pirate Wench, French Maid and Southern Belle. Nothing really I would classify as scary, unless you're like me and hate clowns. For meek, I loved the Lady Bug and Maid Marian.

Tip: Try using their online chat feature to ask questions so you don't waste your time buying and having to make a return.
