Jungle Chat Product Review
Guest Author - Diane Claus

Jungle Chat has three sets of three cards. Every card has a different animal on it with a fact about that animal on one side a different story-rhyme that is about that animal and the three other animals in that set on the opposite side. The sets are color coordinated so they can be pulled out and layered together quickly. A huge plus if you have preschoolers with a shorter then normal attention span.

The animals are between to pieces of clear plastic surrounded by brightly colored cardboard when stacked make a really nice picture that catches the eye but does not overwhelm. The animals have a friendly appearance that gives them life without scarring preschoolers.

My son really enjoyed the Jungle Chat set. We stacked the cards, read the story-rhymes and talked about the animals on each card. I asked my son to tell a story about the animals and he mixed the cards and made up his own story. He enjoyed hearing the animal facts and making up new stories about the animals. He is always excited when I pull out the cards.

The animals are familiar to most preschoolers and can be found at most zoos. It was a great leaping off point to talk about and learn more about the animals on the cards. I only had one problem with the cards. I found that after a while was with the corners of the cards. The corners ended up bent and looked like they were coming apart making them slightly harder to keep stacked.

Because of the bright colors and the amount of detail on the cardboard part of the cards I do not recommend this product for children who have trouble with visual discrimination. Otherwise this is a great product that would make a great addition to a preschool or home library.
