Plus Size Pirate Costume

It is no surprise that pirates are such a hot item for yet another year. Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom's Pirates of the Caribbean series have made pirates not only good looking but fashionable. They have left a lasting impression on society's view of how pirates look, act and dress.

In reality, living the pirate life was hard and most of them did it for the adventure more than the gains they were able to plunder. The Hollywood image of a pirate is larger than life, full of beer, food and loose women. In reality, they were constantly competing against one another, running from the law and scrounging for their next meal. In the successful pirate age, fullness was a semblance of success and wealth. Pirates like to eat hearty, live large, and embrace life.

Pirates are not only popular for men. Women have fantasies about causing waves on the high seas too. They want to surf, pillage and escape narrow encounters with enemies at sea. If you are considering dressing up as a pirate, instead of introducing yourself as a 'pirate' use a popular historical female pirate name like Charlotte Badger, Anne Bonny, Catherine Haggerty, Grace O'Malley, Mary Read or Rachel Wall. Or make up your own pirate name by using an anagram of your real name. Mine is Reewanu Doom.

A pirate costume is a great disguise for plus size women of all sizes. They are stronger and can survive longer at sea. Not to mention they make sexier pirates with all those curves.

Buy Costumes has a number of different plus size pirate costumes to suit different tastes. My favorites include the following: Caribbean Pirate Queen (17880), Sexy Piratess (11205), Royal Lady Pirate (31825), and Deck Hand Darling (21354). You can surf their site via the link below using the product codes in brackets or do a simple search on their site using "plus pirates". Prices range from $50 - $100.
