Nidia Sophia Jewelry

Everyone is beautiful in their own unique way, and the jewelry we wear has the power to enhance our individual kind of beauty. Personal taste, fashion sense, and our own inherent style dictate our jewelry choices. We are inevitably drawn to our favorite colors and gemstones, certain shapes, and varying degrees of sparkle. We are intrigued and attracted like magnets to jewelry that accentuates our natural beauty and best reflects our personality.

So it is truly an art when one jewelry designer’s collection is consistently elegant and beautifully designed, yet diverse enough to celebrate so many different kinds of beauty—from classic and refined to exotic and wild, or even quiet and conservative. These types of beauty and personality are uniquely reflected in handcrafted jewelry from Nidia Sophia Jewelry.

A self-taught jewelry designer with a degree in Information Technology and Visual Arts, Toronto native Shelly Nidia Sophia Richardson began making jewelry as a hobby. She only took the idea of starting a jewelry business seriously when she began receiving many compliments from friends, family, and strangers walking down the street. Ever since, Shelly has been creating handcrafted pieces for clients all over the world, and hasn’t looked back!

Using only the best semi-precious and precious gemstones and natural minerals, wood, coral and other organic gemstones, and 14 karat gold filled metal, Shelly sometimes draws her inspiration for her pieces from the materials themselves. She also draws inspiration from the cultural aesthetics of many different countries and as a result is able to create a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide range of personalities and personal styles.

This necklace features beautiful and perennially fashionable wood beads. A multi-loop frame is formed with 14 karat gold filled wire and gold plated beads are interwoven within the outermost loops...an andalusite stone is woven into the center loop to create a focal point. Dangling on the end of each loop are robles wood beads and a long bronzite briolette. The pendant itself measures 1.5" wide and 1.25" long. The pendant hangs on a 17" figaro gold filled cable chain.

These lovely chandeliers matching the necklace shown above feature a smoky quartz briolette as the focal point of the piece. Andalusite stones are worked into the loops in the middle. At the end of each loop hang long teardrop bronzite beads. These earrings will fall 2.75" from the earlobe and use 14 karat gold filled metals.
