ChunkEbusiness

"Whimsical fat-friendly on-line gifts and gallery"

Are you tired of seeing artwork depicting slender frames? Looking for some plus size inspiration to sit on your shelf or desk? How about a card with a little attitude to send to one of your friends? If you want to get your hands on some fat-friendly art then this is a good place to start looking.

ChunkEbusiness has been the cornerstone for a number of artists looking to share their size friendly wares with admirers both big and small. This website's purpose is to "offer fun, functional gift items along with original artwork that portray people of size in a positive manner, helping to build self-esteem and change the way in which we see ourselves and in which others see us."

ChunkEbusiness is the dream child of three BBWs (big beautiful women) from Santa Rosa, California. The Howell sisters, Darliene and Peggy and their friend Dianne were inspired to bring fat-friendly products they enjoyed like gift cards, statues, bookends, t-shirts, paintings, photographs, figurines, ornaments, and limited edition prints all to one easy to shop location so others could share the fun. This online shop has been actively promoting plus size artisans and merchandise for a number of years.

Darliene and Peggy are active members in the plus size community and staunchly support the value of the advocacy organization NAAFA (National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance).

ChunkEbusiness is always on the look out for new artisans to join their line up. There are only three stipulations; that it be fun, whimsical and promote a sense of self. Their current listing has two of my absolute favorite artists, Jill Haney-Neal and Joyce Mudd but they have many more interesting pieces to whet your decorating appetite.

While this may not be the largest collection of plus size artwork available, it is definitely a good place to start and you'll be treated with lots of love and respect. The site also has links to a number of BBW businesses and inspirational websites. Be prepared to be inspired, laugh and spend some money.

Visit ChunkEbusiness for inspirational decorating ideas.
