After 40 Years...Still Sweeping Through the CityShirley Caesar

Just like the title states...Pastor Shirley Caesar has been one of the reigning Queens of Gospel for over 40 years and with one listen to this CD you will understand why. Opening with the spirit filled "Sweeping Through the City", Caesar gives us that foot-tapping traditional gospel music that makes us all feel good. Recorded live in Raleigh at her home church, Mount Calvary Word of Faith Church, she performs some of her greatest hits including "Choose Ye This Day", "He'll Do it Again' and my favorite "Hold My Mule" which takes me back to listening to Caesar with my beloved grandmother. A must have for any Shirley Caesar fan...you will not be disappointed. Log on to www.shirleycaesar.com check out Pastor Caesar for yourself.

Nothing But WorshipNew Life Community Choir featuring John P. Kee

This CD starts out with the trademark John P. Kee and New Life sound that has sustained the group over the years. With their classic up-tempo praise groove and powerful vocals the first track "Right Now Praise" is a soul-shaking, hand-clapping jam and encourages the listener to praise God right now. On the sweet ballad "Oh Lord Our God" Kee is joined by Fred Hammond, Timiney Figeroa and Nikki Ross and they serve up a classic worship tune that becomes a pure force of praise for all. Other songs of note are "Glorious is Thy Name" and "Build A House". For more information on this project log on to www.johnpkee.com

StrongerMyron Butler

If you listen to the opening track of Myron Butler & Levi's sophomore project "Stronger" you can't help but compare it to a Kirk Franklin joint. With the strong bumping bass track, great horn chords as well as Butler's repetitive rap flow, which is similar to Franklin's, on your first listen you may just think it is Kirk...but don't be fooled...Butler has a flow that is all his own. Maybe it's because Butler is a prodigy of the famed God's Property group that Franklin help put on the map, that we hear the Franklin style in his music however now that Butler and Levi, who is made up of former Property members, are on their own they have indeed become stronger and this project reflects that strength. From the rock-infused "I Live" to the pensive ballad "I Need More of You" featuring the smooth tenor vocals of Butler and the strong alto of Bridgette Jernigan, the group delivers a solid project that provides simply good music. Check out Myron Butler & Levi on their new Stronger DVD an added bonus. Learn more about the group at www.myspace.com/myronbutlerandlevi
